New UAV facility in Northern Greece

Renel awarded key military infrastructure project: New UAV facility in Northern Greece

Renel Energy & Power Engineering has been entrusted with the construction of a critical defense infrastructure project: the new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) hangar and support facilities for the Hellenic Army in Chrysoupoli, Kavala.

The project includes the design and build of a 322.5 m² steel hangar, incorporating high-resilience structural systems, energy-efficient enclosures, and operational zones for both personnel and aircraft. These new facilities will support the deployment of UAVs for surveillance and national security missions.

Scope of Work & Technical Highlights:

  • Steel-framed construction engineered for mission-critical loads

  • Thermal insulation via polyurethane panels and energy-rated aluminium systems

  • Industrial-grade flooring and interior partitioning for auxiliary functions

  • Rainwater management, ramp access, and external paving

  • Comprehensive planning in line with military and sustainability standards

A project aligned with sustainability and resilience:

From waste recovery and responsible excavation practices to energy-optimized construction materials, this project embodies Renel’s dedication to minimizing environmental impact while maximizing operational reliability. It is a modern example of how green engineering meets national defense needs.

At Renel, we specialize in engineering the infrastructures that enable strategic, energy-efficient, and future-ready operations — across sectors.
