Renel Energy & Power Engineering, with more than 17 years of experience in delivering energy and technical projects across Greece, is seeking an Innovation Project Manager to strengthen its Innovation Department, based in Thessaloniki.

The position is aimed at an experienced professional with at least 5 years of experience in the management and preparation of research and co-funded projects, very good knowledge of European funding programmes, and experience working with international partners.

The Innovation Project Manager will play an active role in identifying funding opportunities, developing and submitting proposals, and managing innovation projects, while also contributing to the development of new partnerships, solutions, services, and products.

The position requires full-time, on-site presence at the company’s facilities in Thessaloniki.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate European and national funding opportunities, such as Horizon Europe, LIFE, Interreg, and other relevant programmes
• Analyse call requirements and assess their alignment with the company’s strategic objectives
• Develop concept notes and formulate new project concepts
• Write, coordinate, and submit research proposals
• Identify and develop partnerships with universities, research institutions, businesses, and industrial partners
• Manage the full lifecycle of research and innovation projects
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, milestones, deliverables, and overall progress
• Identify and manage potential risks and deviations during project implementation
• Ensure quality and compliance with funding bodies’ requirements
• Coordinate internal teams, external partners, coordinators, and international partners
• Prepare and quality-check technical reports, deliverables, and progress reports
• Participate in project meetings, networking events, and conferences in Greece and abroad
• Contribute to the exploitation of project results and knowledge transfer for the development of new solutions, services, and products
• Support the team in project management and implementation activities
• Collaborate with other company departments on the technical implementation, exploitation, and dissemination of innovation project results

Candidate Profile

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the management and preparation of research and co-funded projects
• Proven experience in writing, managing, and submitting research proposals
• Very good knowledge of European funding mechanisms and related procedures
• Familiarity with funding programme submission platforms
• Experience working with international partners and multicultural teams
• Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken
• Very good knowledge of Project Management tools and familiarity with work management software
• Excellent command of MS Office
• Understanding of technical topics in the fields of energy, sustainability, and/or IT will be considered an additional asset
• A postgraduate degree in a relevant field will be considered an advantage
• Experience as a Project Coordinator or Work Package Leader will be considered a significant advantage
