Photovoltaic Systems

Solar energy generates electricity, reducing your operating costs and carbon footprint. The installation of a photovoltaic system typically occupies unused land or available industrial roofs, highlighting the value of idle areas of businesses, thus creating an additional revenue stream.

RENEL, with over 15 years of experience, is the ideal choice for businesses that want to reduce their dependence on grid energy, reduce their operating costs and operate in a more sustainable manner. We undertake the Licensing, Construction, Management and Maintenance of Photovoltaic Systems.

Combining our extensive experience with the development of RES projects on roofs and on the grounds of large industries, we can offer you the best solar energy solution for your business.

NET BILLING/ ZERO FEED IN

Net Billing is the new energy management system in Greece that enables self-consumers to sell the excess energy they produce from renewable sources, such as photovoltaic systems. The energy sector in Greece is changing rapidly, offering new opportunities for businesses that wish to reduce their costs and enhance their sustainability through solar energy. Recent regulations, such as Law 5037/2023 and EU Directive 2018/2001, create a more favorable framework for the installation of photovoltaic systems with the Net Billing system.

How it works

The energy produced by the photovoltaic system is used directly for the needs of the installation. If there is a surplus, it is transferred to the grid and sold at a predetermined price. Energy consumption in the facilities is essentially offset by the amount you would pay to the electricity provider, while compensation is received for excess energy, which is equivalent to the cost of generating electricity in the network.

Key features of Net Billing:

  • Excess energy is fed into the grid and compensated based on its market value.
  • The new framework allows for the optimization of energy consumption, while at the same time enhancing sustainability through the use of RES.
  • Easier interconnection with the grid is supported through additional available electrical space, which is specifically intended for self-consumers.

What are the changes for Greek companies that want to install up to 200 kWp?

  • The Network Operator has foreseen a new power absorption margin of 10 MW per Substation, exclusively for self-consumers and synchronized energy netting.
  • Of these, 3.8 MW are reserved for installations up to 200 kWp, which concern companies in the secondary and tertiary sectors.
  • The additional secured electrical space is estimated at approximately 2 GW. This also gives the possibility of installing zero injection systems even when there is a problem with the short-circuit level at the substation.

Why choose Renel Energy & Power Engineering?
