Renel undertook the renovation of 13 teaching rooms at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki in November 2025, a contract covering acoustic treatment of floors, walls and ceilings, concealed HVAC and plumbing networks, LED lighting, fire detection, anti-panic seating, and a BMS system managing CO2, temperature and humidity across all rooms simultaneously.
In April 2026, Renel won another contract: the full replacement of HVAC systems across multiple campus buildings. The scope includes 25 VRV systems replaced with high-efficiency VRF units, a new central air handling unit for the Conference Hall and Distance Learning Room, and 279 split units upgraded across buildings, all integrated into a single BMS platform.
The environmental impact is just as concrete: 25 ageing VRV systems and 279 outdated split units replaced with high-efficiency equipment, LED lighting throughout, and a single BMS platform managing consumption, temperature, and air quality across all covered spaces in real time.
Public buildings carry a dual obligation: to the people using them and to the energy they consume. Both projects address both.
