What is the role of your department, Research & Development in Renel?

The R&D department, which I have the privilege to lead, is all about fostering innovation in the energy sector. Our team is passionate about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. We explore new opportunities and embrace cutting-edge technologies to create innovative solutions that advance our field. Our role is to drive innovation and transformation in the energy and electromechanical domains.

Which field of research inspires you the most?

Personally, I find inspiration in the ever-evolving field of renewable energy. The prospect of harnessing nature’s resources, like solar and wind power, to create sustainable, clean energy solutions for the future is both exciting and essential. It aligns perfectly with our mission at Renel to contribute to a greener, more sustainable world. The second area that truly excites me is electromobility. As we move towards a more sustainable future, the integration of renewable energy sources into the world of electric vehicles is an inspiring avenue. We’re dedicated to researching and developing innovative solutions that combine renewable energy systems with electromobility.

Where lies the future of the energy sector?

The future of the energy sector lies in innovation and sustainability. We’re moving towards a world where clean energy sources, energy efficiency and environmentally friendly practices are paramount. At the R&D department, we are committed to being at the forefront of this transition, actively shaping the future with our innovative approaches and solutions.

How do you feel as the head of a department which consists only of women scientists?

Leading a department of exceptional women is an incredible honor. I’m proud to work with a team that brings diverse perspectives, creativity and determination to our projects. It’s a testament to the fact that innovation knows no gender boundaries. I’m excited to see the impact we’ll make in our field.

What are some recent projects that your department has been working on?

We’re proud of the diverse range of innovative projects that have recently come to life in our department. These include utilizing cutting-edge technology such as drones and machine learning for inspections, which has not only improved the efficiency, but also enhanced safety. Additionally, our team has been developing smart charging stations that integrate renewable energy sources and employ IoT models, making electric vehicle charging more sustainable and efficient. Furthermore, we have focused on optimizing photovoltaic systems to harness solar energy more effectively, contributing to a greener, more energy-efficient future.
